Sales Pitch

We know each other. The wind is a distant name. We go together through the same secret door in the castle over and over again. It opens up to where we are with all the colors changed.
I draw a bridge and you draw a bridge. Our bridges are different but each can be opened to let boats pass. And each can be brought back down again, to welcome visitors.
In my mind you’re up in a tree knowing more. An arrow’s dull tip lodged in its trunk. Please don’t stop this feeling with a word. The shadow of your arm is all I need.

Do whales have bellybuttons?
Does every kind of wonder
lead to shame? It’s more time

tremendous wave before I
ever saw it coming. Now I’m
laughing underwater, feeling
the warm sun’s hum on my ear.
